Delabole slate quarry photos

While on holiday in North Cornwall in June 2015 we visited Delabole slate quarry, one of the oldest slate quarries in Britain and still working. There used to be a tourists' visitor area with lots of information but now it seems to have become simply a reception area for customers buying slate. There were a lot of old photos mounted on board but left lying around on the floor or propped at the base of walls, a great shame as they looked so interesting. I went around with my camera and did my best to record them for posterity, although some were in positions that made photography difficult. I had to do a lot of editing in Gimp to get them presentable, such as using the Transform tool to bring some of them back into a rectangular shape after having to take the photos at an odd angle. So please excuse the quality but it's better than nothing at all. There are no captions to most of them because no information was provided. They are presented here in no particular order. Here we go....enjoy!
There is some historical background on the company's web site: LINK

The quarry itself on the day we visited. You can see the working faces are currently on the right-hand side...

Nice record Tiz. They had a beam engine as well as water power I see. Lots of hard work and employment in those days!
