😂
I was talking to my elder brother yesterday, him and his wife have been ‘nomads’ for quite a few years now.
I was saying to him that after all these years ( we arrived in Australia in 1964 end March / early April) that I still don’t do well in the heat. He said they had just been thru 2 cyclone’s on the Queensland Coast.
He said that if I lived in England, I would feel more aches and pains because of the colder temperatures.
🤔. You can’t win. 😊
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

Pleasant morning here. Just learnt that a farmer has cleared a way through the snowdrifts between us and the pub at Black Lane Ends.
Misty down Salterforth way!

That's a relief, you can go for your dinnertime pint today.
Yes it's very misty down here Wendy but mild with it. Better than ice underfoot! I've just got back from a walk out to Town Square and a veggie shop. Now I can stop doing useful things!

The showers forecast for later in the afternoon came in at about 15:00 yesterday but it was calm and dry at 20:00. This morning we have significant rain but it is calm and mild. The glass rose steadily all day yesterday and this morning is on 980mb. The forecast says that rain will cease before 05:00 and we can expect a dry day after a spell of mist this morning. The wind is light and variable but by 05:00 will have settled into a constant moderate westerly that increases slowly and gives us a high of 7C and a low of 2C tonight with a -4C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for similar mixed weather which gets into double figures in the middle of the week.

We have quite a heavy mist, which is either coming down off the fell, or coming up from the Ribble. Either way I don’t think it will last long as the sun keeps breaking through.

Yesterday afternoon ended calm and clear and this morning first thing it was the same but signs of a recent very light shower. There has been no change so far. The glass has risen and is on 991mb. The forecast is for rain for a couple of hours after 06:00 but then improving to a dry day with sunny spells. The constant WSW is moderate and gusts to 30mph this afternoon giving us a high of 6C and a low of 3C tonight with up to a -5C wind chill. This means that we shall feel very close to freezing all day. The outlook remains the same, warmer and wetter weather for the rest of the week.

I sympathise with you Cathy. I know that you are used to higher temperatures than we are but that must be more uncomfortable than our near freezing temperature today. You can always put more clothes on to keep warm but there is a limit to what you can do with temperatures like that.
Later at 06:00. Over here the rain has come in as forecast. I hope it doesn't freeze.....

Yesterday developed into a dry sunny day but then deteriorated during the afternoon with cloud and light rain. By 20:00 it was dry again but overcast. This morning we have a light breeze, broken overcast and it's dry. Th glass has risen and is steady on just over 1002mb. The forecast is for a bright overcast morning with sunny intervals but then heavy rain comes in at noon and is with us for the rest of the day.... The Southerly winds start moderate and gradually reduce all day. They give us a high of 7C and a low of 6C tonight with a wind chill that starts at -5C this morning but reduces to -2C later today. The outlook for the rest of the week is for warmer and wetter weather.

Yesterday afternoon stayed dry but only just. There was always a hint of rain in the air. At 20:00 it was calm and dry but overcast. This morning first thing it was the same, calm, dry and overcast but now we have rain. The glass is steady on 1002mb. The forecast is for rain all day until evening and then overcast. The constant SW wind is moderate and gives us a high of 11C and 10C tonight with a wind chill of -3C. The six day outlook is for similar mild wet weather. Definitely not snow which is what we had on this day in 1936!

Yesterday was basically rain all day. At 20:00 it wasn't actually raining but very close to it. First thing this morning we had rain and it hasn't changed since. The glass is still nailed to 1002mb. The forecast is that apart from a possible break this morning, it will rain all day. The constant moderate SW wind gusts to 30mph and we have a high of 13C and a low of 8C tonight with a possible -3C wind chill during the day. The outlook for the week is slightly cooler but drier. This is very good weather for February!

It stayed dry today until I met up with Sally in the Co-op car park at 2pm for our walk. It then poured down while we walked (or paddled) up Lister Well, across to Prospect then back down Folly Lane into the town. It stopped just as I got home again at about 4pm.

Yesterday afternoon was wet and mild but by 16:00 it was dry. It was still dry at 20:00. This morning it was dry wit6h a light bre3eze but there was evidence of rain overnight. The glass is still steady on 1002mb and the forecast is for us to have a mild, overcast foggy day. The constant westerly winds are moderate and give us a high of 9C with a low of 7C tonight, the wind chill could reach -4C at times..... The outlook is for slightly warmer weather, dry but perhaps a rainy day next Wednesday. Certainly kind for the time of year.

The foggy day they forecast was obviously a euphemism for miserable mizzle. That's what we have and I have just been out in it for a short walk and to post 3 letters....

I agree with you Gloria, it was miserable and despite being so fine was very wetting....
Yesterday the mizzle developed into proper rain in the afternoon. By 20:00 it had stopped and we were dry, This morning it's still overcast but dry. The glass stirred off 1002mb yesterday and rose all day, this morning we have 1020mb and hopefully this signals a change in the weather. The forecast is a yellow warning for 24 hours of heavy rain starting at 15:00 this afternoon but at the moment it's dry and overcast and will stay like that until this afternoon. The constant southerly winds are light and give us a high of 12C and a low of 8C tonight with maybe -3C wind chill occasionally. The outlook is for slightly cooler weather but dry until Wednesday when we can expect the rain to return.
