Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

Yesterday afternoon managed to stay dry but by 20:00 it was raining. This morning we have a wind and significant rain. The glass rose a bit but is back down now on 992mb and falling fast. The forecast is for an overcast day with sunny intervals and heavy showers until this evening. The constant SW wind will be brisk and gusts to 35mph giving us a high of 14C and a low of 11C tonight with a wind chill that will reach -4C in the strongest winds. Despite that the perceived temperature is much milder than of late. Tomorrow the temperature could be even higher but will then fall slowly for the rest of the week. Next Tuesday could be a wet day.

Later.... The wind is rising and the glass is falling like a stone. It's down on 989mb now.
Listening to the Shipping Bulletin, there are plenty of warnings for storms force 10 and 11.

We have sunshine at the moment but it's still raining in between the sunny spells. One consolation, the glass has stopped falling and is rising now.

I am informed it is storm Kathleen that's moving in to give us mild wet weather tonight and tomorrow. Very windy tomorrow.

Yesterday afternoon the mizzle persisted and at 20:00 we still had light rain. First thing this morning it was winy and wet. It has stopped raining now and is windy but very mild. The glass is up on 995mb and steady. The forecast is for a cloudy but dry day until this evening. The southerly winds will be brisk and gust to 45mph giving us a high of 15C and a low of 7C tonight with a wind chill of up to -5C in the strongest winds. The outlook is for the mild, wet and windy weather to persist well into next week.

A lot warmer forecast in Perth Cathy. Susan and Mick fly out early next week. They will leave 30C and come back to 10C if they are lucky.

It’s fine this morning, no sign of having heavy rain overnight. Sun trying to peep through, and it’s a tad warmer.

Yesterday afternoon stayed dry, bright and mild until just after 16:00 when it started raining. It was raining at 20:00 when I went to bed.... This morning first thing it was breezy and dry with scattered clouds, evidence of rain during the night.. It's still the same now. The glass is up slightly on 992mb and rising. The forecast is for showers and sunny intervals starting around 07:00. The constant SW wind will be brisk and gusts to over 45mph during the day. It allows us a high of 12C and a low of 6C tonight with a wind chill of -4C for most of the day. The outlook is for similar broken weather for the next week with Tuesday being a bit cooler, forecast as 9C.

Yesterday afternoon stayed dry until about 16:00 then we had light rain but that stopped by 20:00 when I want to bed,
This morning we had a light breeze but a clear sky and it was dry. The glass has risen to 999mb and the forecast is for a spell of rain from 06:00 to 09:00 and then bright overcast until 16:00 when we get heavier overcast and steady light rain. The southerly winds will be light to moderate and we will have a high of 13C and a low of 6C tonight with a wind chill that might reach -3C at times. The outlook is for two cooler and wetter days but then a spell of warmer and drier weather.
Listening to the Shipping forecast the reason why we are in for two cooler and wetter days is that another Atlantic storm is coming in via the Western Approaches today.

Yesterday stayed dry until 15:00 when it started raining. By 20:00o when I went to bed it had ceased and the sky was clearing a little. First thing this morning it was calm and dry but there were signs of recent rain. It's just about dry now but only just. The glass has fallen and is down on 992qmb and steady. The forecast is for heavy overcast but dry this morning but then heavy rain for the rest of the day. The wind is light until the rain starts around 11:00 when it settles into a brisk WNW gusting to 45mph which carries a wind chill of -5C. Overall the high is 8C and the low tonight is 4C. We can expect a milder but wet and windy day tomorrow and then the rest of the week will be mild and drier.

Yesterday afternoon again stayed dry but only just. At 20:00 odd spots of rain were blowing in on a cold blustery wind. This morning it was calmer and clear and dry first thing and hasn't changed since, The big change is that the glass has leapt up to 1016mb. The forecast is dry until noon but then heavy rain for the rest of the day. The constant SW wind is steady and starts light but increases during the day to moderate and will gust to almost 40mph when the rain comes in. We will have a high of 12C today and a low of 10C tonight with a -4C wind chill in the rain. The outlook is for 3 mild, dry days and then more normal temperatures into next week.

We were supposed to have heavy rain overnight, but it looks as though we had none. The cloud looks quite light so we may be in for a fine day.🤞

Yesterday afternoon was wet and windy. By 20:00 it was breezy and we had a light mizzle. This morning first thing it was the same and since then the rain has got heavier, it's a steady drizzle now. The glass is still on 1016mb and tending to rise. The forecast is for the rain to pass and for us to have an overcast but dry day. The constant WSW wind is moderate and gusts to 30mph at the moment but that will ease. The high will be 15C and the low tonight 10C with a -3C wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather but slightly cooler and accompanied by sunshine and showers.

Yesterday afternoon stayed dry but windy mainly but at 20:00 light rain had started. This morning first thing it was breezy, mild and dry but overcast. It is still the same but we are told we can expect light rain in the next hour. The glass has risen to 1020mb and the forecast is for rain from 05:00 until 09:00 and after that a dry but overcast day. The constant WSW wind is moderate and at first gusts to almost 40mph but gradually eases throughout the day. We can expect a high of 13C and a low tonight of 9C with a wind chill of up to -4C this morning. The outlook is for similar weather.

I have finished cooking veggies, all is tidied up and next week's grub is in the fridge. Now I can do bugger all for a while! I suppose this is when I should go for a walk but I think my 3 hour veggie cooking stint counts as light exercise.... :biggrin2:
