I'm full of energy Stanley! I did sleep well last night though. Today's plan is to walk to Barlick from home following the Pennine Bridleway, Col has his booster jab this lunchtime so I'll meet up with him there.

Makes me feel tired just reading that. I shall stagger to the bus stop for the Colne bus... :biggrin2:
I had my booster last Friday and suspect the mild flu ache I had during the early part of the week might have been a side effect. Nothing serious....

It was a very pleasant walk (4.82 miles) except for a slip on a wet grass soon after setting off which gave me a wet backside but no damage! Luckily my trousers are mud coloured....
I arranged to meet Col at the Esse Cafe for a bit of lunch then we went on to Homebase in Clitheroe to get some mdf panelling for the utility room.

Another few miles achieved this morning almost before the weather turned, though my last mile or so was into lashing rain and wind.

It got nasty didn't it Wendy. I didn't have a walk, I cooked instead. Would that count?

Cooking doesn't count! I did an extended dog walk yesterday and my walk with Col was a steady 4 miles bringing my total for the first week to 39! I could ease off a bit now if I wanted to, or if any bits get sore or damaged. I'm surprised how my joints and feet are holding up, especially as I'm doing a lot of road walking. I love my boots, they are wonderfully comfortable but might need new soles after my challenge is complete.
£155 raised so far for Pendle Dogs, thanks to everyone encouraging me on.

Cooking should count.... I shall go away and sulk for a while. :biggrin2:
Glad your boots are comfortable. Nothing worse than badly fitting boots and lots of marching.....

Sally and I set off for a walk around Kelbrook Moor in light rain this afternoon. It slowly got heavier and heavier and the cloud came down till we couldn't see and got very wet indeed! I thoroughly enjoyed it despite everything.

Yesterday was a rest day, the weather was awful and I had my 'flu jab in the morning. The nurse offered me a shingles jab but as its a live vaccination and can cause a few days of feeling rough we decided to delay it till next month.

Wendy, Do you know about our new manmade pond by the side of the path from Great House Farm (Red Lane) towards Alkincoats park. Starting from some point in Foulridge you could walk round the top side of Burwain, break back through Hob Stones to Red Lane cross the road then past the pond Alkincoats park. and back down shirt neck Harry to Burwain then Foulridge. or do a longer one by Alkincoats, through the park to Hairs House lane down to Slipper Hill, Round the Slipper Hill res: Burwain , Fouldridge. 90% grass, no big hills.

Thanks for that Ken, Col and I did a walk around there before I began my challenge back in October. We parked on Red Lane and walked past the preparations for the new pond before heading down Shirt Neck Harry and round Burwains to Foulridge where we stopped for a coffee before heading back down to the res then out onto the main road for a short distance before the path up to Langroyd. To be honest I was put off walking alone in that area by reports of the man attacking women in Alkincoats and towards Foulridge
So many lovely walks, it's hard to choose!

Aye. There was the usual Facebook speculation and comment but I suspect there is something underlying that needs treating.
