I note elsewhere that the Baldy Food Guy on youtube isn't using his air fryer any more.

His latest toy is the Sage smart oven
Seems it's a rebadged Breville cooker.

I don't use my air fryer much - as I suspected when I bought it - though it's unequalled for a quick bowl of French Fries, and what's the harm in Spam egg and chips now and again (or more often).

The new gadget is most impressive looks well built, and has more functionaity than the air fryer. They seem to cost about £240 or less now.

It has a clever microprocessor that sets everything up - I'm surprised you can't control it from your mobile phone with an "app".

They say it can replace many other devices. If I get one should I throw them away?

I will not be getting one. . . .

We still use ours regularly, certainly more than the oven which is more or less reserved for bread making now. The one Tripps featured is just a microwave sized bigger cavity job and lot's more expensive. Our dual 4 Litre bin model does fine for both of us.

I used mine to heat up an Aldi camembert and chilli quiche, very pleased with the result. 12 minutes, instead of the suggested 25 and it was piping hot. My regular oven takes longer than that just to get ip to temperature.

And even more simple food today, a cheese and ham toastie. Nice crispy toast and melted cheese in less time than it takes the grill, in the main oven, to warm up :good:

I used the chart to convert the fan oven settings for some spicy boneless chicken thighs (Aldi frozen food). 10 minutes less cooking time and 20 degrees lower temperature, succulent chicken and a crispy coating :good:
