I've read that Parliament will be dissolved on 30th May, but also that it will be prorogued tomorrow.

Does anyone understand these matter? I don't.

PS Much though I have been looking forward to the election - I've had enough of the campaigning nonsense now - I don't think I can put up with another six weeks of it.

The proroguing bit is so that they can legally all do nowt apart from plot their exits or attend meetings to plot their campaigns! It stops just short of dissolving Parliament, but for a few days! Constitutional nonsense which needs to be dragged into the 21st century with a new modern electoral system to sweep away the adversarial two party yo yo system we have to endure, (two sword lengths apart of course). :nooo:

I just google searched "pendle election prediction" and the result was this.

Pendle election prediction

It's a lot more definite than I'd thought it would be.

PS - Forgot the boundary changes. better to look at this Pendle and Clitheroe

Not quite so conclusive but 86% plays 13 % is quite hefty.

Looks promising, I assume they will have taken into consideration the fact that there are no longer any Labour Councillors on Pendle Borough Council.

General Elections have totally different voting demographics

It broadly matches the data that I play with. I also know that our candidate could do a lot better job than the current incumbent.

I'll drop this here so that anyone interested can have a look. He's a local bloke. Other candidates are available of course but I don't yet know who else has chucked their hat in the ring apart from Stephenson and we already know what he is about.

Here we go, we will have nine candidates on the ballot in Pendle & Clitheroe for the General Election. You can read about and see (some of them) on this link.

Who Can I Vote For

A reminder for anyone in the UK that you will need to produce photo ID to claim your ballot at the polling station. Not needed if you have a postal vote or have named a proxy to vote on your behalf.

All you need to know about photo ID and how to get it if you don't have any.

Getting a photo ID from the Council is very easy and remarkably quick!
