I shall make my new lathe tool fit and turn a little bush for Ian.... Delicate work!
That is where I started Stanley, slept with a hot water bottle for 10 nights. The dr assures me it will go when the atmosphere is drier. Back to France imminently, perhaps that will work.

I thought perhaps you'd know about that old trick Sue. Best of luck with it wherever you are......
I have a clean shed, a straight edge and four articles on the BET stockpile. I think I shall put John's castings on one side and start on the Alex engine.....

When it all started Stanley, we were in France on a holiday weekend, with no knowledge of how to access their emergency holiday services. So it was good old NHS online. That said to apply warmth via a hot water bottle, take pain killers and anti inflammatories. It got me over the three days, I carried on with the warmth as it was very soothing.

I have suffered with abcess' in my ears in the past, I took the extreme measure of heating an old tea cup with boiling water and then tightly placing it over the affected ear. A little extreme but it did draw out some 'interesting' gunge and the infection cleared up very quickly... :surprised:

I remember my mum doing something similar when I was a child. All nearly ok now. When I get up my ear fills full, after walking around for a bit it shifts. My hearing is nearly back to normal.

Heat is good.... When I was going through my Cystitis phase a woman told me that the only relief she got was s strategically placed hot water bottle and she was right, I found it helped.
I was talking to Susan about ears the other day and she sympathises with you Sue. She has been there in spades.......

Yesterday the shed was an oasis of sanity as I mounted the engine castings temporarily on a block of wood so I could hold them to work on them..... I shall be in there today.

Well - tomorrow actually - I'm taking delivery of my new mattress. It's from a firm called Silent Night. I think they're from 'oop North' somewhere.

The fitted sheets arrived today - If you look quickly they are 'percale' which I'm told is a good thing. However look more closely and it actually reads 'Easy Care Pecale'. I think I've been seen off.

I think that means it is not 100% cotton David but certainly a superior weave. I hope you enjoy them and the mattress!
I shall be doing my usual Friday round of shopping, reading the BET and hopefully getting time in the shed.

Hobby room Stanley, with fully equipped sewing section, art section and storage for craft and knitting. Can't quite get my knitting machine in , which is stored under the bed and surfaces occasionally. Sewing patterns and other accessories stored in the wardrobe in the study. Who needs a four bedroom house anyway when you can have two, a hobby room and a study. As for a double garage we couldn't get two cars in so Bob rapidly converted that to a single garage and his domain, his workshop. :laugh5:

Excellent! But you know that we are in a minority. So many people have no interests beyond the anaesthetic of the TV and the sofa.... Have you ever watched daytime TV? I shall be doing my most fraught job this morning, drilling steam passages in the cylinder casting..... It usually goes well but always a strain! You must hit similar stages when dress making, once you have made a wrong cut life gets very difficult!

On the way back from France and stayed over in Coventry overnight with the grandchildren and family. We slept in sleeping bags in the lounge. Eve gets up early and got a shock when she came in the lounge at 6.15, ( thank goodness that is French time at 7.15) . She didn't know we were staying over.
