I spent most of yesterday afternoon chasing Peter Pan's Wendy and searching for Robin Hood in Barlick town centre. Earlier, I'd found Shrek, the Snow Queen and a handful of other characters lurking in various shops.

When I caught up with Wendy, she promised to meet me at the Rainhall Centre last night, but I was disappointed. Eventually, I tracked Robin down and I'm hopeful he'll turn up when we're showing Despicable Me 2 at the cinema. Who knows, Wendy may put in an appearance, too!

It sounds quite adventurous searching out these exotic characters in Barnoldswick. But, as usual, the reality is rather less exciting.

I'm still chasing people who had Disney character costumes for the Switch On event earlier this month. Most people returned the costumes they'd used as arranged, but chasing the laggards (especially Robin Hood) is a right pain!

Beauty tip for Marilyn's chest (or anyones) Gently rub on flaky sea salt mixed with a squirt of baby oil onto chest. It removes dead skin and makes the skin shine. Haven't tried it myself, hehe.

You OK Cathy? Salty chests?
Well Weets may be calling but I won't be going. Got my foot trodden on by large pony this morning on the way down the lane, it just caught my little toe and the outside edge of my foot. Suprising how long a walking horse keeps it's front hoof on the ground... while you hope you aren't going to land on the floor amongst all the other hooves. I've just braved a peep after getting the rest of my jobs done and I have a very swollen & bruised little toe. Think I'll soak it for a while and apply witch hazel.

Cazza...I worry about you. Why would anyone want shiny boobs? I see no advantage at all. ( boobs is boobs honey)
( maybe you are supposed to get your partner to rub it on?)

Hope your toe comes good, Wendy. Was he getting you back for your comment about how long you could go on caring for him? Spooky!

Haha, the tip came from an article I read in the Daily M yesterday. It's supposed to make your skin look younger and feel softer. How about washing your hair in Fairy liquid once a month to make it shiny, full of body and remove build up of hair products? No? I didn't think so either. :laugh5:

I am very impressed with Cologne. We visited all the Christmas market sites and Cologne cathedral . I have never seen such beautiful stained glass windows in a cathedral. We bought a few little gifts off the market, nothing much, but generally enjoyed the atmosphere. Hot wine, hot chocolate, hot German sausages.

Tomorrow I shall buy chocolates, cake and biscuits. Some will be for my writing group next Wednesday day by way of a festive meeting.

You lot lead such adventurous lives.... I shall stick to the cold water for my face....
Bruised little toes are like buses, you don't see one for ages and then two come along together. I was examining my daughters toe while we waited for the op on Tuesday but she had done hers by stubbing it in the bathroom. No doubt at all that she had given it a fair crack, it was badly bruised an d at first she thought it was broken. Comfrey sounds about right Wendy!

I asked Susan how her toe was yesterday and it's going on OK, just badly bruised. She said I was the only person who had given her any sympathy. Those little bones in your foot can be very painful. I've broken many bones in my time but the most painful was a metatarsal in my right foot.
I shall be relaxing today after a very busy day yesterday, roofers, eye surgeon and a now pair of Bins.... By the way, you were right Pete, an excellent pair of glasses. Well pleased with them and so small!

Spent yesterday afternoon at the primary school being interviewed by 5 & 6 year olds about the 'olden days'. They wanted to know what school was like back then, what did we wear, what games did we play. One little girl asked how did we used get to school, was it with a horse and cart - not sure how old they think we all are!

It was a lovely afternoon with a large number of Grandparents turning up to take part. Wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Not a site that appreciates adverts (I do know) but recommendations - ah there's the thing. So the stay at the Alma was fine, thank you to all concerned. The breakfast scored an unsurpassable 10 out of 10. The staff were kind and courteous and the rooms were just right. The evening meal was brilliant, so in short Dad and I had a good stay and I will certainly be taking Steve there at some point in warmer weather. Both funerals (as we ended up with two to go to on the same day) went well and thanks to anyone who had anything to do with those.

Today I shall be mainly being contemplative, thankful for warm coats and as Stanley said earlier, regretting missed opportunities.

Glad to hear that the Alma did well Julie, I have had some good meals there and the atmosphere always seems pleasant and welcoming. Two funerals on one day must have been overwhelming to say the least.
Hiding away as much as possible from the wind and rain, just been to let the ducks & hens out and it wasn't a pleasant experience. The ponies are staying indoors this morning, a day inside won't do them any harm.
I'm expecting a full house over Xmas, so it's time to do some cleaning tasks....fridge clean out and window cleaning (inside!) planned today

( 'Warnie' looks a bit odd though. Must have gone to the same plastic surgeon a Paul Hogan!)

I've been a Cricket Widow most of the day...I threw him a bit of lunch and a toasted sandwich for dinner. It could have contained dog food and I don't think he would have noticed. He must have an enormous bladder because he can sit there for hours without moving!
