Our new Rangehood was delivered today -finally! - after waiting a month for it to show up. Rang the cabinet maker straight away but they can't find any time to put it in before next Thursday. That's ok. I can survive on the three burners I can use safely until we get the canopy in ( I have to open the window while cooking just now...and restrict cooking to the 3 low burners and oven. It can get a bit chilly in the kitchen, and I have had to resort to using a torch to check how the saucepans are boiling because, of course, there is no direct overhead light without the rangehood.) so slightly primitive conditions still... :biggrin2:
I'm not complaining. Better than an electric frypan that spat fat in all directions...

Shopping day tomorrow, so have cleared out the veg crisper drawer and cooked up a large pot of Vegetarian Pasta Sauce. Now have three large tubs cooling, waiting to go in the freezer. Waste not, want not.
Usually I make Soup, but I made a pot of Soup yesterday (Chicken and Veg).
Don't have to call Febby twice when there is Soup for tea, he nearly knocks me down in the rush!

Good man. Fish and chips is one of my favourites. We generally have home cooked cod or haddock twice a week but no batter. It is said that the best fish and chip shop in Colne is the Cemetery Chip Shop. Its name is derived from its close proximity to the cemetery rather than any black humour about the results of over indulgence.

Tonight … Chinese Lemon Chicken takeaway and rice. Usually there is more than enough for one meal so will have the rest tomorrow night.

Some time ago I made the mistake of watching a YouTube on 'How to make Haggis'. Link. Its now off my list for ever. Revolting! No wonder they sell it to unsuspecting Sasanachs. Anything to get rid of it.

Have to say our meal was YUM.

Have stuffed some Pasta tubes with a mixture of cooked Kale and Ricotta Cheese. Then made a Veg and Tomato Sauce to cover it ( onions, red capsicum, zucchini, butternut pumpkin and tomatoe). Added some Oregano and Basil. Threw some Cheese on top. All ready for the oven this evening and I shall crumb some Chicken Breast to accompany the Veg/Pasta Bake.

I extended the Haggis and veggies with a tin of beans and 3 Lincolnshire sausages and that finished it off for dinner and tea. No afters except a few peanuts.
During the day I slow cooked a ham hock in cider and last thing separated the gravy and the ham and put them both in the fridge. I'll find a use for the ham today after deboning and taking the fat and skin off.....
