If it is truly personal, keep stum...but if you just burnt the dinner I can’t see it being too embarrassing to tell...

Speaking of things going wrong , as in ‘Domestic Accidents’, I had one this morning. I had put a cleaning cloth in my bathroom sink to rinse, after soaking it due to another domestic accident caused by my four legged little darling, mmmm...
Anyway, I was flustered and didn’t realise that I had put the plug in. I turned on the tap, walked away and soon heard a sloshing sound. Went back in to sink overflowing, floor awash, vanity and inside shelves with everything that is stored in there, dripping wet! What a palava to get everything dealt with, dried and back to normal!
It was my second bad start to the day. 🙁
Luckily the rest of it has gone well.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

Hope your cat, Lady, has come good Cazza. She is getting into the era of becoming a “Grand old Lady”.
I am sure she was just as distressed to the start of her day as you were.
We do love our animals, but some days are a bit challenging as they age.
(Eeeee.....some days are a bit challenging as WE age too!)

Einstein postulated that nothing could travel faster than light. This led to the observation that the faster you traveled the slower you aged. There is one exception to this rule which is Diarrhea. In fact the reverse is true as you age the faster it travels often beating the speed of light. :biggrin2:

Spooky again. I took my eye off the ball and knocked my tea over. Since I keep the cup well away from the Laptop the tea just went over my trousers. Kept remarkably calm and was changed and pants in the washer within ten minutes. Quite surprised myself.

Today's tip. There is absolutely nothing wrong in taking vicarious pleasure from other's misfortunes. I am glad I am not the only one who has them. I commiserate with all of you!

We are a sick lot too...we all still laugh when one of our kids recalls the day hubby had one foot on the houseboat and one foot in the dinghy and the void between both boats got bigger and bigger (the legs getting further and further apart) until he finally fell in the river shouting “My Groin!”
Walked like John Wayne for a week! :laugh5:
(We had to fish him out because he can’t swim and we were all in hysterics.)

Today we have an oldie. Spend a bit of time with your old family photographs and write information, dates etc, on the back. One day in the future someone will be vary glad you did it!

I totally agree with the photo thing, Stanley. So many photos in my hubby’s old photo albums which have him scratching his head, because he struggles to remember details though he does recognise the faces. Other photos are as clear as a bell to him, so I always urge him to write on the back. Who knows if the kids will ever want them, but I have tried to get him to say what he remembers. I have already done photo albums for my son, as I wanted rid of the suitcase of photos I had. Many photos went in the bin. They are a chore to go through ( who wants all these old memories?). There are gems within the pile, but most of them aren’t really worth keeping...

Old photographs carry far more information than you expect. Dress styles, furniture, cars, buildings. Show someone a 50 year old Super 8mm film and the first thing they home in on is the background detail. I have quite a number of studio photographs of some unknown distant relatives dressed in WW1 uniform. Another of a mystery person who turned out to be my grandmother who died in 1915. Throw them away if you must but they may be an absolute treasure to others.

I get what you are saying. But I have a son about to turn 42 who vows he will never marry and will never have kids.
I respect that. I made my choices in life and he is entitled to his.
So....am I expected to lug a suitcase of worthless photos around through my life? No. I got rid. There is no one wanting them.

Unfortunately true Maz but if anyone is thinking of doing the same, consider making the effort to digitise them, pop the archive on a memory stick and loose them into the world. That's what I did and the kids all have the archive. They go back into them often. The point being that the images survive.

The BBC are running a series of programmes on the importance of touch. Part of the series is reports from researchers and one said that tests for the release of endorphins after hugging reached it's peak after a 25 second hug. So today's tip is if you are lucky enough to have someone you can hug, make it at least 25 seconds to be on the safe side!
