I don't think you are going to get this one. I'll give it a few hours and come clean. You are all in the right area but the wrong source of yarn! If you knew it it would be dead easy.....

Did you hear about the canny Yorkshireman who noticed there was always sheep wool on barb wire fences. He decided to make a business from it and he spent the next 60 years collecting it. He died last week and do you know how much he left?

Virgins, Loaves, Fishes IS biblical...as are lambs, oxen, donkeys and doves! In fact, if you think back to the Ark, everything is pretty much covered...even them 'oribble (hairless) snakes...

Does the animal have cloven hooves? (Cos you are on the dark side now...)

Yes Gloria, you've got there! This is natural colour Jacob wool. The lady reared the sheep, sheared them and spun the wool herself. One of my island friends gave me a fisherman's jersey that she had made and when she heard she made me a beanie as well. I have an idea she was from England and had ended up on Eigg as governess for the children of the owner before Schellenberg.
Maz, I've racked my brains but can't remember any biblical reference to naked virgin's pubic hair.....
Next for shaving?

No Cathy, you are right about the typesetting, but what particular sort? Clue, it's obsolete now but used to be state of the art.
