The hot medical news at Graham Towers is that I think I may have a slight head cold! My nose has been running for a week and now I am slightly congested. This drove me to the Lagavulin for the first time in months and I had two doses yesterday and one this morning. I had forgotten what sublime whisky Lagavulin is..... I note that the 16 year old is £80 a bottle. Good job I have one almost full one on the go and two untouched in the Vatican Cellar!

I heard that report as well Peter. My advice is to get An 'OTEX EXPRESS' complete earwax removal kit and follow the instructions. Works like a charm for me. I also noted an improvement in my ability to 'click' my ears to improve hearing after I increased my salt intake after the latest health advice fiasco from NICE.

I've always used Otex ear drops too. When you open a new bottle by unscrewing the top, it snaps off an anti-tampering ring which stays on the bottle. Always remove that ring after the first opening. I've found that if it's left on then the cap doesn't screw up fully tight after use and the hydrogen peroxide might break down faster and limit the efficacy of the drops.

I made the above rather flippant remark a while ago, on another thread, and find today that a connection in the diagnosis of Long Covid and Sarcoidosis seems to be 'a thing'. Doctor Nurse John Campbell's latest video (with Australian Professor Robert Clancy) is a long rambling multi-element effort, but there is mention (at about 40 Mins in) of both Long Covid and Sarcoidosis. It sounds to me that people who complain of the former are sometimes diagnosed with the latter.

There is mention (again) of drugs which are safe, and are well tried for other conditions, but are out of patent, and very cheap. No huge profits for the big pharmaceutical companies then. Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine are mentioned.

Campbell specifically emphasises that he is not recommending their use.

PS It occurs to me that Plaques is a fan, and used to post these videos. We've seen little of him lately. Does anyone know how he is?

Tripps, it looks as if Ken hasn't logged onto the site since the end of December. I contacted Stanley with my concerns earlier in the week and he had just sent an email hoping for news.

I have been in touch with Ken recently. He is poorly and is being treated.

Last night I made an attempt to explain my medical condition but fell into what Stanley would say " the Gods are against me". no sooner had I hit the send button the laptop went into melt down. Everything crashed the only thing left was the dilemma at to which window to throw it out off.

Back to medical condition. Kevin was kind enough to alert me to the questions being raised on One Guy and the number 'Get well wished that had been posted. In particular one from Cathy one of our more distant members asking about my welfare. I thought this was a very nice gesture coming from someone so distant.

About my condition not very good and a difficult subject to talk about, I'm sure a number of of our members will have made very intelligent guesses but have restrained themselves from saying anything, the bottom line is I've got one of the bone marrow cancers that is normally considered terminal. My Consultant is doing everything she can with Chemo and medications to slow the decline down. Currently on bi-weekly blood samples for analysis. These are rushed to Royal Blackburn :Lab and on her desk for assessment the following day

I know the outcome is rather negative but everyone is putting the most possible positive outlook on things.

I and Ms P would like to thank all those offering their best wishes and how much it means to us.

Nice to see you on Ken and thank you for your candid post. From experience within our cancer support group I know that a positive attitude is always the best stance to take. I wish you well with your treatment which seems from what you say to be well in hand. Shout if you need anything.

The prescription process has excelled this time. Requested on Saturday, approved at 08:20 this morning, despatched at 12:20 today. I think I made a wise choice switching to an online chemist

It would appear that routine treatments are dealt with efficiently. Making an appointment to see a doctor not so easy.
Next available appointment, end of February.
The online 111 service, after inputting the symptoms, says either contact your GP surgery or go to an urgent treatment centre.
The other option is to join the 08:30 queue of callers for a same day appointment.
What's going on?

A bit later and I have got an appointment with the 'first contact' physiotherapist at the surgery, just a two week wait for that one, I could have had the 8th but I'll be out of the country.

Kev, I am convinced that what we are looking at is the start of the long predicted total collapse of the NHS.
It would appear that they all lied when they assured us it was safe in their hands.
If I am right, expect it to get worse.
