MYSTERY OBJECTS
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Toilet/Urinal
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
A pissoir. I feel it should be in Paris or Marseilles but it'll probably turn out to be somewhere like St Pancras Station!

This is Trawden's offering, not quite as ornate but just as functional. Image from Google Earth / Steet View in 2009.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Are they unisex, or do females just have to hang on?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Standing room only as a rule Maz. I remember when our kids were young and we we in rural France. How mortified they were when we found one of their unisex "holes in the ground" complete with foot placement recesses to aid in correct alignment. I think it was somewhere in the Loire.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
It's been let slip a bit since 2009 by the looks of it, could do with a coat of paint.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Brings to mind Clochemerle. I read the book a long time ago, but seem to have missed the film.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
You're all dead right of course but not the location, slightly more esoteric and further away than Trawden or Paris. One more day for you to think......

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Barnoldswick Water Works?
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
That's a good suggestion Maz. Of course, it could also be the Barlick branch of Weight Watchers.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Did they have Weight Watchers in 1891?
Another suggestion...British Water Ways. I recall having to carry a key to get water from taps along the canal on our canal-boat holiday.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Looks like the slidey thing out of a craft knife ???
Work, the curse of the drinking class (oscar wilde)
Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Well, that didn't last long, did it. I'll bet you've seen the insides of a few craft knives in your time! This is probably the bit that pops out and drops down the chimney just when you need the knife.
