Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
You're both close enough. It's a water course at Chachabamba archaeological site (Machu Picchu National Archaeological Park, Peru) We still aren't sure how they cut stone like that.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Kev is right, it is a much magnified image. And again, yes, it's edible but not manufactured.

Kev has it, it's a cut banana being pulled apart.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
It's not a cut banana fruit, the cut ends don't look like that. But Kev is right to say `Banana' because it must be the cut ends of a banana plant stem that has just been sliced through.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
You could be right Peter and I have it wrong as to where the cut is. Definitely banana though.... Sorry for cocking up!

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
No need to say sorry, it made an interesting mystery object. I've done a bit more research and the original, wider view, photo shows it is the cut stem of a growing banana `tree'. It was posted on the Reddit web site years ago but since then it's suffered the fate of so many internet photos - people sent it viral but just said it was a banana!
Is your new object some kind of special shoe horn? It looks the right shape to take a heel.
