Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

Somehow someone has stolen the sun and sent early the colder north winds. London's early yesterday rain gave way to a day of showers, some heavy, which continued overnight and into today, late sept sun is weakly around but will soon give way to the october one that fails to bring its own heat. Why is there not a way to store the excess heat and light from the summer and share it out just a little each day ?

Yesterday we had much more sun than forecast but with a thin NW wind to accompany it! At 20:00 there was evidence of a light shower but it was calm and the sky was clear. Same first thing this morning, cool enough to trigger the CH. It hasn't changed since, still calm, cool and clear. The glass is steady on 996mb. The forecast is for a dry day, bright overcast and sunny intervals and perhaps rain coming in this evening at dusk. The constant NW wind is light to moderate giving a high of 13C and a low of 8C tonight with a chill of -2C. We will have a similar day tomorrow, rain on Friday and then back to dry bright overcast weather.

I've just come back from my walk and a sit at the end of Albert Road. Full sun and it was out of the wind. I was wrapped up well and so it was very warm and pleasant. I have had colder experiences in summer!
Now for a bit of lunch....

Yesterday the afternoon clouded over and at 20:00 as per the forecast, we got light rain as it went dark. First thing this morning there was evidence of rain during the night but it was cam, cool, drying up and overcast. The glass is steady on just a shade over 996mb. The forecast is for a mainly dry day with sunny intervals, much the same as yesterday. The wind is mainly a moderate NE giving a high of 15C a low of 6C and a wind chill of -2C. Tomorrow we shall have wind and rain and the rest of the week will be unsettled.

Yesterday stayed dry and by 20:00 the sky was clearing. First thing this morning it was calm, clear and cold enough to trigger the CH. It hasn't changed since. The glass has risen to 1004mb but has started falling. That's in line with the forecast which is for an Atlantic Low to hit us this morning giving us rain for the rest of the day. The southerly wind starts light but soon gets up to brisk with gusts up to 45mph. This gives us a high of 14C and a low of 10C with up tp -3C wind chill. The outlook is for three days of brighter weather but then a return of the rain next week.

The forecast was right, it's a horrible day and one best spent indoors. I've just finished cooking. All the pans washed up and stowed away except the ones full of cooked veggies for next week.I shall have a quiet sit now until I have a vegetarian tea.....
I feel sorry for anyone who has had to work outside in this.....

Yesterday did what it said on the tin, it started raining at midday and didn't stop until 20:00 when the sky cleared. First thing this morning it was calm, dry and clear even though the forecast tells me we have heavy rain!. I've just had a look and we have well broken cloud and spots of rain but no actual precipitation. The glass fell yesterday to 985mb, it is on 991 this morning and rising. The forecast says heavy rain until late this morning and sunny intervals and showers this afternoon.... The mainly WSW wind is brisk and gusts to 35mph giving a high of 13C, a low of 9C tonight and a wind chill of up to -4C. So, whatever you are doing, wrap up warm! The six day outlook is for similar weather, broken and wet at times.

Yesterday was more sunny than forecast but still cold. At 20:00 the sky was clearing. First thing this morning it was calm, clear and cold and it's not changed since. The glass has risen to 1010mb and is still rising fast. The forecast is for a bright dry day with sunny spells. The mainly WSW wind is light to moderate giving a high of 14 C and a low of 7C tonight with a -2C wind chill. Tomorrow will be dry but then we have two days of wind and rain again. The rest of the week is very similar to today.

Yesterday it stayed fine and at 20:00 it was calm, dry and overcast. Quite mild actually. This morning it is still calm, dry overcast and mild. The glass is up and steady on 1022mb. The forecast is for a dry but overcast day. The mainly southerly wind is light and gives a high of 14C and a low of 12C tonight with as -2C wind chill. Tomorrow and Wednesday we can expect rain and wind and after that broken clouded weather rather like today.

Yesterday stuck to the script, overcast all day and at 20:00 calm, dry and mild. It cleared during the night but this morning has settled back into being overcast, still calm and mild.... The glass has dropped to 1009mb and is still falling. This squares with the forecast which gives rain starting around 10:00 and lasting for the rest of the day. The constant SW wind is brisk gusting to 35mph giving a high of 15C, a low of 13C and a wind chill of -2C. Tomorrow we can expect more rain and a stronger wind. For the rest of the week expect broken showery weather, a bit brighter but cooler.

Yesterday I was expecting the rain and never went for my walk. The rain didn't arrive until much later! At 20:00 it had ceased but it was overcast and damp. First thing this morning it was still the same and hasn't changed since. The glass has fallen to 998mb and is still falling. The forecast is dead simple, it will rain all day! The SW wind will be brisk and gust to 35mph giving us a high of 15C a low of 9C and a chill of as much as -4C at times. The rest of the six day forecast is a bit brighter and after rain on Friday is drier and colder.
Later at 05:00. No ambiguity today, the rain has started....

Yesterday it managed to stop raining before dark but only just. At 20:00 it was calming down and the sky was clearing. This morning it's calm, clear and dry. The glass has leapt up to 1015mb and is still rising. The forecast is for it to cloud over and become showery at midday with sunny intervals. The WSW wind will become brisk, gusting to almost 40mph and giving us a high of 14C, a low of 12C tonight and as much as -4C chill during the day. If you're going out, wrap up well! We are promised a wet day tomorrow and then five days of overcast, cooler weather but mainly dry.

Yesterday ended up dry with sunny spells. At 20:00 it was going dark, breezy but still dry. This morning first thing we had a light breeze, a clear sky and it was mild and dry. It hasn't changed since. The glass is down on 1010mb and falling and the forecast is for a wet day, possibly starting at 07:00. The WSW wind will be brisk with gusts over 40mph at times giving a high of 13C, a low of 8C and as much as -4C wind chill at times so wrap up warm! The six day outlook is for similar weather but drier and brighter perhaps.

Yesterday was wet until late afternoon when it started to clear up. By 20:00 we had a light breeze and a clearing sky. We had almost a full Hunter's Moon last night. (It's full tonight.) This morning we had a light breeze and it was cool under a clear sky. It's still mainly clear but we are having a very light shower of rain. The glass is up on 1013mb and rising. The forecast is for a burst of heavy rain until about 08:00 and then dry with cloud and sunny intervals all day. The West wind is moderate and gives a high of 12C, a low of 7C and a chill of -2C. The six day outlook is for similar weather.

Yesterday afternoon stayed fine and at 20:00 we had a breeze, it was cool and the sky was clearing and stayed that way overnight with a full moon. This morning we have a breeze, it's still clear and it's cool. The glass is up slightly on 1015mb but falling. The forecast is for a dry bright day gradually clouding over until we get rain coming in at nightfall. The wind is a brisk and constant SW gusting to 35mph giving a high of 14C and 7C with a wind chill of -4C. Wrap up warm if you are in the wind. The six day outlook as for similar bright weather but cooler.

Here in Adelaide we have had some glorious days. Last week we had an almighty storm, lots of damage done. Nights still cool. Looks like we have a bit of rain to come, but hey, we can’t complain “ITS SPRING!”

Definitely a lot cooler here Cathy.....
Yesterday the weather gradually deteriorated and by 20:00 we had rain as forecast. Clear during the night with a full moon and this morning we have a breeze but it's dry and cool. The glass is down on 1007mb but tending to rise. The forecast is for a day of long sunny spells and no rain. The moderate wind is mainly WNW and gives a high of 12C and a low of 7C with a -3 wind chill. The 6 day outlook is for slightly colder cloudier weather with some showers.

higher pressure in the south and a clear full on moonlit early morning in London. Frosts are forecast so that starts to annoy the tender plants. So was noticably not warm at 6am and the doorstep milk was colder than the fridge. Sunshine expected all day and the BBC changed the two week forecast going forward from sunny and clear to sunny spells and light showers.

Yesterday was as per the forecast, overcast and at 20:00 was, as usual, clearing and we had a good moon all night. This morning first thing it was calm, dry and we had a clear sky but with a thin haze. It is still the same, except that we now have a light breeze. The glass is down on 1015mb and falling. The forecast is for it to start raining around 09:00 and for this to persist all day. The constant SW wind is brisk, gusting to 30mph and gives a high of 13C and a low of 6C with a -3C wind chill for most of the day. The 6 day outlook is for similar temperatures but brighter if more broken.
