A good neighbour delivered the parcel this morning. On reflection, my biggest problem is not hyearing someone at the back door when I'm in the front room. Have ordered a wireless door bell this morning!!

A very good question and all I can say is that the courier must have been very quiet. Jack generally misses nothing!

Today we shall be trying to warm our very cold house. A nice warm log fire will be the rule! Then a little shopping and a couple of visits to friends, French and English.

I have one last pumpkin here , so a little soup making perhaps. We had left two pumpkins in the store room but one is a puddle of disintegrated mush! That was a surprise, especially as it is so cold out there.

Sue, Mary and I used to be the first in the watermill on Eigg each year in March (no midges!) and the first job was to fire up the big Jotul wood-burner and get it red hot. It took 36 hours to get the heat into the walls. You can't beat having and ex-firebeater with you for that job!
Watching for another book.....

Definitely taking it easy, no gardening until next week when the weather warms up a bit. I have been making a dress all day and this evening is wine tasting at a friends house. I am still not 100%', so not rushing around ?

A trip to a fabric shop in Rennes. What a find, why can't we have shops like that. I needed a zipper foot for my machine. There should have been one with it, but there wasn't and I bought it too long ago to claim. The moral of the story is to check all parts are there when you buy a sewing machine, don't just check that it works!
